Chicago Fulton River District Senior Pictures | Emma

Give us a minute to allow us to introduce the newest Illinois State University (ISU) Redbird, Emma.  We have a soft spot in our heart for ISU as it is our alma mater.  Emma and her mom, Kerry came to the studio from a previous experience with us; providing dance portraits of Emma’s sister, Chloe with the Difference Dance Company (see original post here). See if you can pickout which one is Chloe.

During our creative design, Emma conveyed the desire to have a downtown city vibe with a touch of nature.  Learning of Emma’s dance experiences and flare for fashion, we knew we could combine all of these elements into a killer senior pictures photoshoot experience.

Our scouting journey led us to Chicago’s Fulton River District.  We carved out a handful of spots that became the foundation for the looks we aimed to create. At one point we were joking about how large the city is as we had Emma standing in a tight stairwell corner.

For us, fashion plays a huge role in influencing the creative style of each look.  Emma’s outfits absolutely defined the look we were after.  From the gorgeous black suit with red top, to the leather skirt with black boots, her looks were stunning.  And don’t get us started on the red heels; we could not get enough of them.  Also, a shout out goes to our Makeup Artist, Paige Puccio who provided her flawless makeup and hair styling.  She even stepped in to help our assistant hold the body reflector scrim when the wind attempted to turn it into a sail.

We are beyond enamored with the beauty Emma portrays on each one of these portraits.  She has the subtle differences from look to look that we absolutely love.  Emma delivered a presence that is not overwhelming; instead it draws you in and you find it difficult to look away.

As most photographers will attest to, we are always pushing to take one more picture.  “Just one more.”  We will say that about 20-30 times, before we actually put the camera away.  Needless to say, we always want to push the creative limits and try new concepts.  For our last few senior pictures, Emma was game for us to try a few off-script ideas.  I hope you agree that these pictures are worth “just one more”.

Emma, thank you for trusting us to create your senior pictures; it means the world to us. Kerry, thank you for the opportunity in creating an experience that we hope Emma and you will remember for a lifetime.
